Preparation

After finalizing your treatment plan during your consultation, Dr. Bonillas will provide detailed preparation instructions. As a less-invasive alternative to surgery, IgniteRF does not require extensive preparations, but there are a few key guidelines to follow ahead of your procedure. These can include:

  • Avoiding blood-thinning medications and supplements
  • Staying hydrated
  • Avoiding alcohol consumption and ceasing nicotine use
  • Making the necessary arrangements away from work or other responsibilities
  • Arranging transportation home from your procedure

Procedure

At the start of your procedure, Dr. Bonillas will map the treatment areas and entry points with a skin-safe surgical marker. Following this, he or a team member will administer the appropriate anesthesia. Once you are comfortable, Dr. Bonillas will make tiny, precise incisions, then insert a thin cannula probe into the treatment area. This device will emit radiofrequency energy, which the body will absorb as heat. This melts fat, allowing for easier removal, and simultaneously stimulates collagen production to help the skin conform to newly reduced body contours. The built-in thermostats will monitor temperature to prevent overheating and adjust energy output automatically to keep treatment comfortable.
