Preparation
Your appointment will not need much preparation but it is important to do a few things beforehand to ensure a streamlined experience. We advise patients to avoid taking certain blood-thinning medications such as ibuprofen two weeks before their treatment. Please refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol a few days before. You may be required to stop eating and drinking entirely up to eight hours before the procedure. Our staff will go over how to prepare for VASER Lipo during your consultation.
Procedure
VASER was designed for your comfort in mind. We here at Scottsdale Plastics take your comfort seriously. Once we finalized paperwork and other logistics, you will rest peacefully to ensure that you are cozy. After Dr. Bonillas gracefully makes small incisions, he will target your unwanted fat stores with a small cannula tube. [3] The fat located just under the subdermal plane will start to break away when the VASER system emits sonic pulses. These ultrasound frequencies make the removal of the fat easier as the unwanted fat cells are now liquidated and more malleable. [4] They are removed through the same cannula. The entire process should take about two hours to complete.
Recovery
VASER patients who are already fit are able to enjoy envious six-pack abs almost immediately after their treatment. But be patient! Full effects may not be seen until after 2-3 months when swelling and soreness subsides. [5] Most people can return to work and resume normal activities within a few days. Dr. Bonillas may give you a compression garment to wear for the first two days of recovery to ensure the integrity of the results. FAQ
Does liposuction permanently remove fat?
Liposuction removes fat cells from the body. Once they’re removed, they won’t come back. Weight fluctuations can happen but fat won’t accumulate in the same way as it used to as your newly contoured body will distribute the fat more evenly.
How many treatments of VASER liposuction will I need?
The Vaser lipo procedure is usually done in one session. For extensive treatments or to target more areas, then patients may go for multiple sessions. They are usually split into two sessions spaced one to six weeks apart.
What is the difference between liposuction and VASER liposuction?
Traditional liposuction differs as it only targets the deep layers of fat. VASER, on the other hand, targets both deep and superficial layers of fat without destroying connective tissue. Not to mention it is much faster and requires less downtime.
