About Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC

Juvéderm is a collection of dermal fillers that add natural-looking volume to the skin. As you age, your skin’s levels of collagen and elastin–essential proteins that help it maintain its structure–decline, leading to wrinkles, fine lines, and laxity that can affect your appearance.

Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC is FDA-approved and designed to address moderate to severe facial wrinkles. (1) Its formula is firm enough to support deeper tissues, whether you have nasolabial folds or deep wrinkles.

Vycross Technology

Juvéderm injectables are formulated with Vycross technology, creating a cross-linked form of hyaluronic acid that distributes evenly beneath the skin. The formula contains high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, resulting in a smooth gel that provides natural-looking volume to the skin. Candidates

Suitable candidates for the treatment must be 21 years or older. Many candidates want to reduce nasolabial folds or deeper wrinkles affecting their perceived age and facial proportions. If you are looking for a nonsurgical solution to signs of aging and have realistic expectations about what we can achieve based on your underlying anatomy, you are likely a good candidate. Candidates should be in good overall health, without any skin infections or history of severe allergic reactions, also known as anaphylaxis. If you are allergic to the proteins in hyaluronic acid-based serums or injectables, we will likely recommend an alternative.

Preparation

Preparing for your treatment is simple, and we can discuss the best ways to prepare based on your personalized treatment plan. You should avoid taking medications and supplements that thin your blood in the weeks leading up to your appointment. You should also avoid drinking alcohol 24 hours before and after your treatment. We recommend that you schedule your treatment approximately 2-3 weeks before any major events.

Treatment Process

On the day of your treatment, you will need to arrive with a clean face without any makeup or skincare products.

We will cleanse your skin and administer the treatment beneath it. The injections will help improve collagen production and provide long-lasting hydration. ⁽³⁾ The cross-linked formula spreads evenly beneath the skin for a natural-looking appearance, and the firm formula supports your skin to reduce the appearance of deeper wrinkles and folds.

After Your Treatment

After your treatment, you can enjoy smoother skin. Although recovery time is minimal, you should avoid excessive sun exposure. Some patients experience minor swelling or discomfort in the treatment area. We can discuss the best ways to care for your skin and prevent any side effects. It is important not to put pressure on your skin afterward while the formula settles.

Results

Although you can experience immediate improvement, the full effect will occur after a few days when the swelling subsides. Depending on the type of treatment you receive and your treatment plan, this typically occurs after a few days to a week. The results can last for up to a year or longer if you take good care of your skin, depending on your lifestyle and metabolism.

They also deliver radiofrequency to the skin barrier, which generates heat and causes the skin to contract for a smoother appearance.
